ABOUT ME
My name is Lucy Hopkins and I was born with cerebral palsy. I use an electric wheelchair for my mobility and a computer to communicate. I have very little control of my hands, but when I was 12 years old my art teacher and occupational therapist encouraged me to do painting as a form of therapy. My art teacher was inspirational in helping me to explore different ways of being creative.
The easiest way for me to paint is using brushes attached to long poles that I can hold with both hands. I need a helper to gently support the pole with the tip of a finger so I can move it around the canvas.
Bonkers is the name of my lovely dog. He is a cockapoo and very special to me.
I love to paint and I hope you enjoy viewing my work
